Changing the head on a string trimmer is very easy. There are multiple kinds of string trimmer heads. Essentially, they can be changed by simply removing the old head and screwing on the new one. There are many benefits to changing out the head on a string trimmer. This can allow you to optimize your string trimmer for many different uses. Fixed Line

This simplifies the process of dealing with trimmer line. These systems usually use thick, tougher string and are commonly used on commercial machines. This decreases the likelihood of the line sustaining wear or breaking, which reduces the amount of time that I have to spend doing line repairs! However, the individual line system means that you have to stop trimming whenever you need to switch out the length of line or whenever the line breaks.
How to Change a String Trimmer Head
It is incredibly simple to change the head on a string trimmer. First, you will want to use a pair of channel block pliers to secure the dust cap behind the string trimmer head. Then you use a strap wrench to unthread the trimmer head. This can be accomplished by rotating the head counterclockwise. During this process, it is important to take care that you don't cut yourself on the sharp cutting mechanisms. This is all it takes to remove the head on the string trimmer! Now the new head needs to be placed on the string trimmer.
First, you need to check that the dust cap is in place before you install the new string trimmer head. After you have ensured that the dust cap is in place, you can attach the new string trimmer head by simply twisting it clockwise onto the drive shaft. After this, you will want to use your strap wrench to tighten the head onto the string trimmer. At this point, your string trimmer should be ready for use! It is a very simple process, but you need to be careful not to cut yourself on the string trimmer head during the removal of the old head and the installation of the new one.
The ease of switching out string trimmer heads has allowed me to take advantage of the different varieties of heads! This has helped me to perform my trimming jobs much more effectively, which provides many benefits to my lawn.
